Fiddletown, CA | Amador County
Located in the Sierra Foothills region of Northern California, Oleta Vineyard is situated in the heart of the picturesque Shenandoah Valley. The Fiddletown AVA is one of the oldest appellations in the country, dating back to 1983. The tiny town of Fiddletown was “Oleta” from 1878 until 1932, hence the name of our vineyard! Fiddletown lies at an elevation of 1,683 feet and is known for producing excellent “reds”.
The vineyard is 40 acres with 33 acres growing seven varietals, including Zinfandel, Barbera, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Montepulciano, Sauvignon Blanc and Vermentino. Our commitment to sustainable farming and high-quality growing has been a constant for the past 35 years.
Over the years, our vineyard has produced several award-winning varietals, including four Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at the 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. We are extremely proud of the fruit we grow, and remain committed quality over quantity. As we like to say, “It takes great grapes to make great wine!”
